Currently in Grade 12 in Le Quy Don High School, Quang Tri, Linh was selected to represent his province in the National Exam. Only the top-tier students are selected to represent their region in the national competition. Linh’s dedication and hard work propelled him to stand out among his peers, earning him the opportunity to showcase his skills on a national platform.

Reflecting on his achievement, Linh expressed his gratitude:

“Achieving the national prize is my biggest goal during my three years at high school. With the national qualification, I may qualify for direct admission to some of the universities of my preference. Simultaneously, it contributes to enhancing my profile.”

The VNF scholarship and English support program also assisted Linh. The program, called Build a Future (BAF) provides money for tuition fees and English and 21st century global employment skills.

“Throughout my educational journey, I found myself having to allocate a significant portion of my resources toward tuition fees, particularly while under the mentorship of esteemed Ph.D. professors. At a crucial juncture when financial strain weighed heavily on me, I received the scholarship notification from the Vietnam Foundation. It was truly wonderful; it helped alleviate the pressure and allowed me to focus more on my studies.”

Linh, with aspirations in the field of biotechnology, aims to enrol in the renowned Hanoi University of Science and Technology. However, his ambitions extend beyond national borders as he hopes to participate in international student exchange programs to broaden his knowledge and expertise in the global arena.

“Until now, I have had two plans for my future career. Firstly, I want to work as a scientist, stay in the lab, and continuously research. Secondly, I also want to research and develop food technology such as lab-grown meat, low-fat fast food.”
